PREMA’s IndyCar roster bolstered by F2 podium-sitter for 2025 assault

Callum Ilott, a former Formula 2 podium finisher, joins the Italian squad in a multi-year deal to compete in North America’s premier open-wheel series in 2025

PREMA have announced the signing of Callum Ilott for their IndyCar Series programme, with the British driver joining the Italian squad on a multi-year deal from 2025.

Ilott, 24, has spent the past two seasons in Formula 2 with Virtuosi Racing, scoring three podiums and finishing seventh in the 2021 championship standings.

Prior to that, he was a race winner in both Formula 3 and GP3, and also served as a test and reserve driver for the Ferrari Formula 1 team.

Ilott will make his IndyCar debut at the season-opening race in St. Petersburg in 2025, and will be looking to challenge for race wins and the championship title.

PREMA are one of the most successful teams in junior single-seater racing, having won multiple titles in Formula 2, Formula 3 and Formula 4.

The Italian squad made their IndyCar debut in 2023, and have quickly established themselves as one of the top teams in the series.

They currently field two cars for Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist, and are expected to expand to a three-car operation in 2025.

Ilott’s signing is a major coup for PREMA, and will give them one of the strongest driver line-ups in the IndyCar Series.

The British driver is confident that he can challenge for race wins and the championship title in 2025.

“I’m very excited to be joining PREMA for the 2025 IndyCar season,” said Ilott.

“PREMA are one of the most successful teams in junior single-seater racing, and they have quickly established themselves as one of the top teams in IndyCar.

“I’m confident that I can challenge for race wins and the championship title with them in 2025.”
