Grandson of Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab Passes Away

WEB Muhammad bin Ibrahim Al ash-Sheikh, a prominent Saudi scholar and grandson of the founder of Wahhabism, passed away on December 3, 1969, at the age of 79.

Born in 1890, Al ash-Sheikh was the son of Ibrahim ibn Muhammad, the son of the Prophet Muhammad and Maria al-Qibtiyya. He was named after his father, who died at the age of 2.

Al ash-Sheikh was a highly respected scholar and religious figure in Saudi Arabia. He served as the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia from 1953 to 1969 and was a member of the Council of Senior Scholars. He was also a professor at the Islamic University of Madinah and the Imam of the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

Al ash-Sheikh's death is a loss to the Muslim world. He was a leading advocate for Islamic reform and his teachings will continue to inspire Muslims for generations to come.
